<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Should I make an account?
Yes, you should make an account during or before checkout. Of course you can checkout as a guest. But creating an account will allow you to download your products in the future (assuming you haven’t used all of your downloads) and have easy access to your orders. Even if you order as a guest and create your account at a different time, your orders will show up in your account (as long as you used the same email).
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How many downloads do I receive?
For each sample pack you will receive 2 downloads. This is intended for producers who have 2 computers and want to have these samples stored on the local hard drives for each machine. Although it would probably make more sense to have the samples stored on a portable hard drive that way if you are using presets it will pull from the same directory and you will not have to relocate the files on a different hard drive. If you need additional downloads please login to your account or contact us.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How come I can’t download the files?
If you are having issues downloading the files, please connect to a secure high-speed wifi connection. Please try alternate browsers like Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc. If you are still having issues fully downloading the files please contact us. We will do our best to help sort through this.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How come there are multiple files to download for a single pack?
Good question. We are limited to a 5 GB download file size. Because we are doing high quality samples at 192 kHz (4 times the memory compared to 48 kHz) and large number of files this means that we will exceed this limitation. That means that you will have several files to download to retrieve the entire pack.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">When I try to unzip the zip file I downloaded I’m getting an "Error" or "Corrupted file" message. What do I do?
We’ve also received this error from other downloads. The solution that we found work was using a different unzipping software than the one that comes with your computer. Windows users try 7-Zip, its free. For Mac users, install the free unzip software The Unarchiver from the App Store.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Why are some of your samples in stereo and some in mono?
Another good question. We decided that some instruments should be recorded in stereo and some should be in mono. So we exported the audio out as we recorded that way the end user would have the file in same format as if you recorded it. For example if you recorded a snare, you’d most likely have a close mic and overhead mic’s. In this case the close mic would be mono and the OH’s would be stereo.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Are your drum sample libraries a plugin that I can use in a DAW?
No. Our samples are uncompressed WAV files that are meant for drag and dropping or being triggered via audio or midi. If using midi to trigger then we have some Battery 4 presets available. If using audio to trigger then we have some Trigger 2 presets available. You must own both of these softwares which we do not make or sell.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">I purchased a sample pack previously and I didn’t download right away. Can I still download it?
Yes, you sure can! You have access to any of your purchased libraries for the lifetime of Blue 13 Sounds — as long as this company is doing business you will have access to your files. If you didn’t make an account just email us and we will see what we can do.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What is your refund policy?
Please review our refund policy here.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Do you offer any presets with your libraries?
Yes we currently offer Battery 4 by Native Instruments and Trigger 2 by Steven Slate Drums presets. We are open to creating more presets but we would need to see the demand in order to create these. Please leave us feedback if you’d like to see other presets being added. Additionally it is very important that you DON’T relabel any files or move anything in or out of the folders and their current setup. If you do then you will most likely cause problems with the presets and have to relocate the files.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Do any of your libraries reuse or share samples from your other libraries?
No. All of our samples and libraries are based on one instrument at a time. We don’t reuse this instrument while creating a new library or sample.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How are your presets MIDI mapped?
For Battery 4 presets, we made it consistent where you could easily change presets and hear the results quickly. So the midi is mapped consistently across each preset. We didn’t do conventional drum set mapping because we are treating each battery preset as an individual instrument not the entire drum set. For example if you are to record a kick, snare, and hi hat, you’d have 3 different tracks. Think of the battery presets as being one of these tracks. The reason we chose to do this is so we could provide multiple velocities with round robins and or random cycles to create more realistic drum augmentation/replacement.
<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Do you have any videos or tutorials on how to use these samples?
Yes. Videos are available on each product page containing information specific to that product. Additionally all videos can be found on our videos page.
